Remarque in Europe

In pursuit of its transatlantic and international agenda, the Remarque Institute is expanding into Europe.  Our objective is to establish a presence at various European sites, ­ initially Paris and Florence, ­ through a program of  activities drawing on the example and experience of the Remarque Institute in New York.  Currently the Institute operates an office at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, and has begun running programing at the University's site in Florence, Villa la Pietra. In future years as part of NYU’s developing overseas initiatives, the Institute hopes to host visitors, resident fellows, talks, meetings and public discussions, with the goal of  encouraging and supporting scholarly exchanges and public discussion on a wide range of contemporary concerns.
